How to increase your pc RAM with usb flash drive/pen drive

Yes increasing the ram of your PC is possible and easy, you don't need any third party software to do this.

it can be done in two ways . Just follow the steps and you should be good to go. Though it's an old trick but for those of you who don't know this yet.

#method 1

virtual ram concept

1. insert flash drive then right click on 'my computer'  and select 'properties'.
   
2. click on 'advanced system settings' on the left side. (administrator rights required)
   
3. In 'advanced' tab select 'settings' under performance.
   
   
   
4. A new window will pop up  then click on 'Advanced'Tab.
   
5. In Advanced Tab there is an option of the Virtual Memory box, click on Change Button.
   
   
   
6. Now uncheck the box of Automatically Manage Page size feature. Then in Custom Size Add Your Pen Drive current same in below format. Now Add same Value in both boxes and click on Apply button.
   

Note: If Your Pen Drive is of Size 4Gb then always add 15Mb less from currently available size. As I am using pen drive of size 4Gb and current space available is 3700 Mb then use 3685 minimum approx or remove more as you can because of it better of device safety.

Restart Your PC or Laptop and Now pen drive work as Virtual Ram.

#method 2

Ready boost

1. As usual Insert your Pen Drive > Now Right click on your pen drive and OpenProperties.
   
2.  Browse to ReadyBoost Tab.
   
3. Then switch to Use this device and reduce your current memory space. If your current device place is 4100MB, then reduce it with approx 200-300MB
   
4. Then click on Apply button and you're all Done.
   

Note: In case if you want to change back your flash drive to normal then switch it back to Don’t use this device in Ready-boost tab.
